Accord signed between ADECCO and the French National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, introducing the Athlete Career Programme for athletes.
The Athlete Career Programme (ACP) has been making waves in the world of athletics, extending its reach to French Para-athletes for the first time this year. This initiative, aimed at supporting elite, Olympic, and Paralympic athletes in their transition from sport to the labor market, has been in place since 2005.
The ACP is a collaborative effort between the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and the world's leading provider of HR solutions. Agreements between National Olympic and Paralympic Committees and the group have been in place since the global launch in 35 countries on five continents.
In Norway, the group's team became the first national sponsor of the 2016 Lillehammer Youth Olympic Games, and they will continue to play a significant role in building the team towards these games. They will also assist with the recruitment of 2,500 volunteers for the event.
The ACP offers career training and job placement services to athletes, helping them navigate the transition from their sporting careers. Notable athletes who have benefited from the programme include Alex Baumann, a Swiss bobsleigh champion and Olympic medallist, and Brice Guyart, a French fencing Olympic champion. Both athletes found the programme useful for gaining work experience and skills translation.
The IOC Athlete Career Programme is delivering workshops as part of the Youth Olympic Games' Culture & Education Programme, targeting 14-18 year-old athletes. These workshops aim to clarify career options and provide valuable insights into the world of work.
In France, the group has been working with the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF) since 2005 to deliver the Parcours Athlète Emploi (Athlete Career Programme - ACP) to French athletes. A renewed agreement with the CNOSF will last until 2016, the year of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio.
Recently, a new agreement has been signed with the French Paralympic Committee (CPSF) for the first time. This extension of the ACP to French Para-athletes is a significant step in providing comprehensive support to all elite athletes in France.
