Adarsh Kumar, 18, Wins $100K Chegg.org Prize for Transforming Learning
Eighteen-year-old Adarsh Kumar, hailing from the humble beginnings of Champaran, Bihar, has made waves globally. Raised by a single mother, he taught himself coding and entrepreneur skills, transforming his life and inspiring many. Now, he's been crowned the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2025, earning a $100,000 prize for his remarkable impact on learning and society.
Adarsh's journey began at 13 when he co-founded Mission Badlao. This initiative secured land for a school, distributed vaccinations, and planted trees, demonstrating his commitment to community development. He later launched Skillzo in 2023, a platform offering mentorship and entrepreneur training to underserved students. The impact has been significant, with 20,000 learners benefiting and many securing scholarships or launching ventures.
His achievements have not gone unnoticed. Adarsh was chosen from nearly 11,000 applicants across 148 countries. He serves as the youngest Google Youth Advisor and CMO of Bihar Chhatra Sansad. His recognition includes a ₹30 lakh scholarship to Jayshree Periwal International School in Rajasthan. Now, with the Chegg.org prize money, Adarsh plans to expand Skillzo into an AI-powered platform and launch the Ignite Fellowship.
