Africa Pioneering Solutions for Complex Issues on World Production Day 2025
Prepare for an exciting event that promises to tackle some of Africa's most pressing challenges, as World Product Day 2025 makes its way to Lagos, Nigeria. Hosted by Innovate Africa, this one-day conference is set to inspire, educate, and engage product builders, engineers, founders, and enterprise teams from across the continent.
The event, themed Bold Builders Wanted, is the culmination of a continent-wide transformative sprint that began with an open Ideathon, crowdsourcing real-world challenges across sectors such as healthcare, climate resilience, digital infrastructure, consumer protection, and public services. From hundreds of entries, Innovate Africa has distilled the challenges into 12 key "wicked problems," which multidisciplinary teams have been working diligently to advance solutions to prototype-ready stages.
Notable product executives like Mustapha Otaru from Sterling Bank, Andrew Obuoforibo from 54 Collective, and Isma'il Shomala from Go Money will be sharing their insights at panels and firesides throughout the event. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in product sprints led by teams, training sessions on discovery, strategy, and testing, and a Product Career Fair to meet potential opportunities.
The top five teams from these product sprints will have the chance to pitch their solutions live for a $2,000 grand prize and a post-event support package aimed at scaling their ventures, with opportunities for incubation and mentoring. This event aims to showcase and amplify product innovation as a catalyst for Africa's growth.
