NNSPU Welcomes New Students: A Momentous Occasion for the University
On the 2nd of August, 2025, the National Naval Shipbuilding Polytechnic University (NNSPU) named after N.I. Lobachevsky, marked a significant milestone as Rector Oleg Trofimov welcomed the new students. The event took place at the university's premises, which is preparing to celebrate its 110th anniversary.
In his address, Trofimov encouraged the students to be curious, brave, honest, and to view difficulties as teachers. He emphasized that the university is a space where the most daring projects and dreams take on real shapes.
The first admission orders for budget places in bachelor's and specialist programs at NNSPU were signed on this day. Among the admitted students were 35 winners and prize-winners of school olympiads, who were granted admission without entrance exams. Additionally, 159 people were admitted under a separate quota for Scheduled Voters Organization (SVO) participants and their family members.
The process for SVO participants to gain admission to NNSPU generally involves eligibility verification, application submission, quota reservation, screening and selection, and verification & admission confirmation. The applicant or their family member must be officially recognized participants of the SVO or beneficiaries under the SVO family, and this recognition is usually verified through certificates or official documentation issued by the SVO administration or relevant authorities.
Candidates under this quota are considered separately from the general admission pool, and admissions are subject to the fixed quota size allocated for SVO participants by NNSPU. The common criteria include proof of SVO participation, academic qualifications, residency or identity documents, and quota limits.
Exact details about the number of budget places for SVO participants and their family members were not provided. However, it is known that 70 people were admitted under targeted contracts.
The Rector noted that the first admissions are an exciting moment for the university, which today is a large family of teachers, students, scientists, thinkers, researchers, and creators. The university continues to foster an environment that encourages curiosity, bravery, honesty, and a passion for learning, preparing its students to face the challenges of the future.
Education-and-self-development opportunities are abundant at NNSPU, with Rector Oleg Trofimov emphasizing the university's role as a space for daring projects and dreams, where students are encouraged to be curious, brave, honest, and view difficulties as teachers. General-news about the university reveals that the university welcomed new students on August 2, 2025, with 159 individuals being admitted under a separate quota for Scheduled Voters Organization (SVO) participants and their family members.
