The construction of Bildungscampus Lusan, a comprehensive school and sports complex in the city of Geras, is progressing as planned. Funding for the project comes from the federal government, the Free State of Thuringia, and the European Union, totalling around 17.5 million euros, with the city of Geras investing an additional 35 million euros.
Work on the building shell of comprehensive school "Die Vierte" has begun, including window and roof sealing, and the installation of the thermal insulation composite system. The new two-field sports hall, complete with 200 spectator seats, is also being constructed as part of the first phase of the project.
A spacious, multifunctional outdoor area is being designed as part of the project. In a second construction phase, the Wilhelm-Busch-Grundschule will be expanded. The first construction phase, including the comprehensive school and sports hall, is planned for completion in approximately one year.
