Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine set to introduce third group to ecumenical program within their community
The Cathedral Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world, will once again play host to the Dialogues on Divinity events and the Community at the Crossing (CATC) programme in the coming year.
Founded in 1892, The Cathedral Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serves as the mother church of the Episcopal Diocese of New York and the seat of its bishop. This iconic venue will welcome the third cohort of CATC in September, comprising 13 young adults aged 22-33 from various U.S. states, as well as international participants from Japan and India.
The CATC programme is a unique offering in the United States, combining intentional community living, daily prayer, and ecumenism to foster personal and spiritual growth. Full-time participants this year are recent graduates from institutions such as Fordham University, Trinity University, Wheaton College, Emory University, and University of Virginia. Local members will join part-time, working in industries like graphic design, education, finance, religion, and more.
The Dialogues on Divinity series, coordinated by CATC, explores contemporary issues through a theological lens and provides an accessible space for direct engagement with influential speakers. The series is pay-as-you-wish, with day-of rush tickets available for students. Attendees can RSVP for the next session on the event's website.
Upcoming Dialogues on Divinity events include "In the Beginning was the Word": Historical and Theological, Jewish and Christian, Perspectives on the Prologue to the Gospel of John" featuring Dr. Amy-Jill Levine on March 8, 2026, and "The role of Faith Communities and Leaders in Shaping Public Discourse" featuring Imam Khalid Latif on May 10, 2026. Other scheduled events include "Conflict and the Healing of Hatred" and "To Earth You Shall Return: Creatureliness, Christian Identity, and Human Hope."
