Title: Discover Schleswig-Holstein's Museums and Cultural Landmarks for Free with the Youth-Friendly MuseumCard
Grab your chance to indulge in a cultural extravaganza across Schleswig-Holstein! The MuseumCard, a popular initiative, offers children and young people the opportunity to explore more than 130 museums, exhibitions, and educational institutions at no cost, until November 16th.
The first set of MuseumCards were set to be handed out to seventh graders during a visit to the European Hanse Museum in Lübeck, marking the start of their exciting journey through history, art, and science. From small local museums to prominent institutions like the Hanse Museum and the Schleswig-Holstein State Museums at Gottorf Castle, numerous venues await your discovery.
Kristin Fechner from the European Hanse Museum expresses, "Museums are not just a peek into the past; they are a spark for future inspiration." With the MuseumCard, Schleswig-Holstein extends an open invitation to young visitors to actively engage in the rich tapestry of history.
Engage, Learn, and Win Prizes!
Approximately 200,000 MuseumCards are available at Sparkassen, museums, libraries, youth associations, the state youth council, and tourist information centers. The card can also be downloaded for free from www.meine-museumscard.de or as a web app. The Ministry of Education and the Sparkassen collaborate to finance this action, aiming to sustain and cultivate young people's interest in art, history, and science.
Collecting three stamps on your MuseumCard or scanning QR codes in museums grants eligible participants the chance to enter a prize draw, with overnight trips and gift prizes to be won. On select days during the autumn holidays, public transport across Schleswig-Holstein will be accessible for free with the MuseumCard.
