Princeton University students can now access LinkedIn Learning, an online learning platform for software, design, and other skills, through the university's library or academic resource portal. This resource offers a wealth of courses, from software development to design and business, providing students with the opportunity to learn at their own pace and select skills of interest.

One student, currently enrolled in an interdisciplinary architectural design studio as part of an Urban Studies Certificate, has found LinkedIn Learning particularly useful. Having never drawn extensively before, most assignments have been outside of their comfort zone. However, the platform has been a valuable tool in improving their architectural analysis skills, with new drawing assignments given each week.

In addition to architectural courses, the student has been part of the Engineering Sequence and the Digital Learning Lab. The Engineering Sequence, another research-based course at Princeton University, focuses on developing drawing, design, and analysis skills. The Digital Learning Lab, located in the Lab Research section, offers access to Macs, tablets, Photoshop, and more, providing students with the necessary tools to complete their assignments.

The student was directed to LinkedIn Learning, which offers hundreds of videos and activities in various fields, including design software, computer programming, and web development. Each tutorial comes with a series of digestible lessons to guide learning, and students can stream courses online or download materials for offline use.

The instructors at LinkedIn Learning provide personalized feedback during "Desk Crits" and meet with students one-on-one outside of class. This personalized approach has been instrumental in the student's growth, allowing them to improve their skills and tackle challenging assignments with confidence.

To access LinkedIn Learning, students typically log in via the Princeton University Library website or the dedicated Princeton academic resources portal, authenticate with their Princeton NetID and password, and browse courses. While the exact URL and detailed instructions specific to Princeton are not always readily available, students should check Princeton’s library website or contact their library’s help desk for the direct access link and any additional guidance.

As Princeton students continue to push their boundaries and explore new areas of study, resources like LinkedIn Learning will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their academic journey.

Technology has become an integral part of education and self-development at Princeton University, with LinkedIn Learning offering online education opportunities for students in various fields, such as software development, design, and business. This online platform allows students to learn at their own pace, select skills of interest, and receive personalized feedback through Desk Crits and one-on-one sessions with instructors.
