Graduation Celebrations Across the Nation
This summer, graduates from various educational institutions across the country received their diplomas in a series of heartwarming and momentous ceremonies.
The graduation event marked the end of the academic year for the newly minted graduates, who were congratulated on their successful completion of their respective programmes. School principal Sylvia Stebbing, Mayor Daniel Hartmann, and school board chair Verena Kersting were among those who extended their congratulations.
The ceremonies varied from institution to institution. For instance, at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) Summer 2025 commencement, the morning ceremony speaker was Jamie Woodall, while the afternoon ceremony speaker was Jeremy Dishongh. In contrast, Nunez Community College’s 33rd commencement ceremony focused more on faculty awards rather than a traditional single commencement speaker.
At the USC Marshall School of Business 2025 commencement, the guest speaker was the entertainer Snoop Dogg. Excelsior University’s 2025 commencement speaker was Benjamin Bryant, an alumnus and Emmy-nominated writer and broadcaster. The Year Up United 2025 summer graduation featured graduate speakers Rene Borja Jr and Godfrey Doris.
The graduation ceremony for each institution was a significant event, attended by school principal Sylvia Stebbing, Mayor Daniel Hartmann, and school board chair Verena Kersting. Following the ceremony, the graduates were invited to a reception to celebrate their achievements.
The valedictorian of the graduating class delivered a speech on behalf of the graduating class, sharing their experiences, aspirations, and gratitude. School Board Chair Verena Kersting and Mayor Daniel Hartmann also addressed the graduates, offering words of wisdom and encouragement as they embark on their future endeavours.
After the speeches, the graduates participated in a group photo session before receiving their diplomas. The graduation ceremony concluded with a celebration, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the graduates.
