Santander Embraces Diversity and Inclusivity with Innovative Programs

Santander, a leading financial institution, is proud to be at the forefront of diversity and inclusion initiatives. One such initiative is the 'Embrace Network', which celebrates the importance of being oneself in the workplace.

The bank's commitment to diversity and inclusivity is reflected in its wide range of programmes, falling under the categories of Education, Responsible Banking, Diversity & Inclusion, and Acknowledgements. These programmes are designed to provide opportunities for those who need it most, and to share inspiring and innovative knowledge and experiences.

One of Santander's flagship programmes is the 'I'm a Leader' mentorship, targeted at women students aged 16 to 19 who are active in their local communities and aspire to be business leaders. This mentorship aims to nurture women's style of leadership, prevent unconscious bias, and help young women develop their leadership qualities and careers.

The 'I'm a Leader' mentorship includes workshops on leadership, effective communication, career planning, and networking. It also offers a mentorship program for inspiration, career development, and networking with professionals. To apply for the mentorship, applicants must be among the 21 finalists of a required challenge.

Santander has previously collaborated with Vital Voices on the LeadersIn mentorship for women leaders. Two mentors from Santander who participated in the LeadersIn Mentoring program of Vital Voices are Ute Hochhausen and Elizabeth Garcia. Santander continues this partnership by participating in the annual 'I'm a Leader' mentorship organized by the Vital Voices foundation.

In addition to the 'I'm a Leader' mentorship, Santander also offers the 'Euros from your salary' contest, which supports those most in need. The bank has both a 16th and a 17th edition of this programme, with the latter focusing on diversity and inclusion.

Santander also offers a first foray into the world of work for individuals. Its programmes are designed to offer insights into the company's culture and work environment, encouraging individuals to learn more about its initiatives and offerings.

In conclusion, Santander is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Through its various programmes, the bank encourages the talent of women, believing in their potential as leaders in banking and the world. Santander views these programmes as important opportunities to make a positive impact on diversity and inclusion.
