Enhanced Cooperation Between UAE and Indonesia through Digital and Leadership Programs
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia have taken a significant step forward in their partnership, announcing a new phase of their strategic collaboration on government modernisation. This was announced at the Government Knowledge Exchange Forum, held recently in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange, stated that the forum marked a qualitative step forward in the UAE-Indonesia partnership. The forum, built upon the UAE's Government Experience Exchange Programme launched in 2018, brought together senior officials from both the UAE and Indonesia governments to exchange best practices in strategy, innovation, competitiveness, and artificial intelligence.
The forum offered a platform to review achievements and explore new opportunities for cooperation. According to Abdulla Nasser Lootah, the Executive Leadership Programme, focusing on areas such as digital transformation, sustainable growth, and agile leadership, is a key component of this cooperation.
In addition to the Executive Leadership Programme, the UAE and Indonesia have also introduced the "10 Million Indonesian Coders" programme. This initiative aims to equip Indonesian youth with coding and digital skills, reflecting the UAE's commitment to building leadership and coding communities as a key pillar of its global partnerships.
Dr. Nezar Patria, Indonesia's Vice Minister for Communications and Informatics, underlined his country's priorities in digital education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He emphasised the importance of the partnership between the UAE and Indonesia in supporting Indonesia's long-term transformation goals.
Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, stated that the initiatives reflect the UAE's vision of investing in people and preparing societies for the future. He reiterated that the UAE's Government Experience Exchange Programme has facilitated partnerships worldwide to strengthen institutional capacity and government performance.
The Indonesian Vice Minister for Communication and Informatics who participated in the Government Knowledge Exchange Forum was Dedy Kuswandaru. The forum was held to announce the new initiatives between the UAE and Indonesia, signifying a new era of collaboration and mutual growth between the two nations.
