EU Boosts Dresden's Electronics Vocational Training with €100M
The Professional School Center (BSZ) for Electronics in Dresden is set to receive a significant boost, with around 100 million euros in funding from the European Union. The decision was officially handed over on September 5 in Dresden by Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer, with key officials in attendance.
The funding, allocated through the EFRE/JTF program, will enable the creation of new, state-of-the-art learning spaces at the BSZ Electronics. These spaces will provide an innovative environment for students in microelectronics, helping to train urgently needed specialists in the field and other future technologies.
Set to open its doors in 2028, the new vocational school center will accommodate around 2,200 students. It aims to set European standards in vocational training, offering advanced workshops, labs, and digital offerings. Notably, it will also introduce the first English vocational training in Germany.
With the European Union investing around 100 million euros, the BSZ for Electronics in Dresden is poised to become a leading center for vocational training in high and key technologies. Upon its opening in 2028, it will provide an innovative learning environment for approximately 2,200 students, including those seeking English vocational training.
