European Union's Information Society Advancement Program Introduced by the European Commission
The Fachinformationsdienst Politikwissenschaft - Pollux, based at the State and University Library (SuUB) Bremen, has received funding from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) for the period 2025-2028, with a budget of 1.9 million euros.
The FID, which aims to provide scientists with specialized, quick, and direct access to political science literature and research-relevant information, has been operating in partnership with GESIS - Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften and Forschungsdatenzentrum Qualiservice at the University of Bremen since its founding in 2016. The website for FID can be found at https://pollux-fid.de/.
The fourth funding phase (2025-2028) will focus on expanding the research portal Pollux, further developing the analysis tool "PoliCorp", open science activities, strengthening research data management for qualitative political science data, optimizing internal work processes and quality assurance, and public relations to increase the visibility of the service in the specialist community.
Dr. Michael Czolkoß-Hettwer, the project coordinator for the FID, can be contacted via email at [email protected] or by phone at +49 421 218-59586. Further information about the FID can be found on its website or by visiting the SuUB Bremen's website at https://www.suub.uni-bremen.de/.
As of 2022, the Forschungsdatenzentrum Qualiservice at the University of Bremen has supplemented the FID as a third project partner. The website for Forschungsdatenzentrum Qualiservice can be found at https://www.qualiservice.org.
For precise and detailed information about the 2025-2028 phase priorities, directly consulting Pollux's official website or contacting Dr. Michael Czolkoß-Hettwer would be necessary. General knowledge about such funding phases suggests that focus areas typically involve enhancing digital access to political science literature, improving research data infrastructures, supporting researchers with tailored information services, and fostering interoperability with related information services.
