The Herford district is inviting young people to explore its vocational colleges during the open house days on November 7-8, 2025. The five colleges, each with a unique focus, are positioned to cater to the regional economy's structure.
The Wilhelm-Normann-Berufskolleg, located in Herford, offers professional focuses in Design, Construction and Wood, Agriculture and Nutrition. On Saturday, 08.11., from 9 to 12 o'clock, visitors can get a glimpse of the college at Hermannstraße 5.
The Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg, also in Herford, provides professional focuses in Health and Sport, Education and Social, Supply and Nutrition, Design, and Dual Training. Young people can visit the college on Saturday, 08.11., from 9 to 12 o'clock, at Hermannstraße 9.
The Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg, located at Hermannstraße 7, Herford, offers a professional focus in Economy and Administration. The open house day is scheduled for Saturday, 08.11., from 9 to 12 o'clock.
The Erich-Gutenberg-Berufskolleg, located at Wedekindstraße 30-38, Bünde, continues to offer a professional focus in Economy and Administration. The open house day will take place on Friday, 07.11., from 13 to 17 o'clock.
The August-Griese-Berufskolleg, situated in Löhne, offers full-time educational programs in Information and Machine Technology, as well as vocational training in the dual system in the areas of Electrical, Motor Vehicle, Plastics Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Sanitary, Heating and Air Conditioning Engineering, and Information Technology. The open house day is scheduled for Friday, 07.11., from 14 to 17 o'clock, at Jahnstraße 54, Löhne.
Dr. Burkhard Nolte, education director of the circle Herford, encourages young people to visit the vocational colleges to find out more about their educational programs. The colleges offer an opportunity to acquire or expand professional knowledge, for example, in the educational programs of social assistant, building technical assistant, and higher commercial school, alongside academic content.
Moreover, the vocational colleges are a fixed partner for dual training with numerous companies, both within and outside the circle Herford. Taster days will take place between November 24th and 27th, where young people can participate in lessons and get a concrete picture of the respective educational offer.
