Sciences Po Announces New Faculty Members and Research Focus for 2025-2026

Sciences Po, one of Europe's leading academic institutions, is expanding its academic community with a focus on diversity and internationalization. The institution, which is divided into 11 research centers or departments, is prioritizing the development of its academic community, with a significant emphasis on gender equality.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, Sciences Po has appointed Julie Klein as the Dean of the Law School. Klein, a legal scholar specializing in various areas such as the law of obligations, law of evidence, economic law, civil and commercial law, corporate law, and international chambers, has been a professor at Sciences Po since 2020. With her appointment, the Law School will focus on reforms in law linked to economic and financial markets.

In addition to Klein, Sciences Po has also welcomed new predoctoral fellows associated with the Institute for Social and Political Sciences (ISPS). Zoya Ahmer, who is working on political behavior, election law, and public policy, will support faculty fellows Shiro Kuriwaki and Joshua Kalla. Bronwen Boyd, who focuses on comparative political economy and American political economy, specifically the Democratic Party's role in the knowledge economy and intersections with law, will work with Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson.

Furthermore, PhD students are being recruited as teaching assistants in areas related to geopolitics of migration and clean energy transition policy, indicating active research and teaching in these topical fields.

While no other specific new permanent faculty appointments or research specializations were detailed for the 2025-2026 academic year, Sciences Po continues to engage prominent economists such as Joseph E. Stiglitz as guest lecturers, representing an active research environment.

The academic community at Sciences Po currently includes around 230 researchers, approximately 350 doctoral students, and around 16 new permanent faculty members. The community primarily focuses on one of five major disciplines: law, economics, history, political science, and sociology.

Sciences Po's commitment to diversity is evident in its academic community, which continues to expand with a focus on international background and gender. The institution is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive academic environment that encourages research and collaboration across various disciplines.

In line with Sciences Po's dedication to fostering a vibrant academic environment, education-and-self-development opportunities are set to expand for the 2025-2026 academic year, with new predoctoral fellows like Zoya Ahmer and Bronwen Boyd focusing on learning areas such as political behavior, election law, public policy, comparative political economy, and the intersection of law with the knowledge economy. As Sciences Po prioritizes diversity and internationalization, this learning-centered expansion aims to increase cross-disciplinary collaboration and research.
