Facebook Expands Retail Support Globally With Free Listings and New Ads
Facebook is expanding its support for retailers worldwide with new tools and features. Free product listings on the Shopping tab will roll out globally in mid-October, while Local Services Ads are set to launch in 10 European countries. These initiatives aim to help businesses connect with more customers, regardless of advertising on the platform.
Facebook's Grow My Store tool, which aids local retailers in enhancing their online shopping experience, has expanded to Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden, and Spain. This follows the success of the tool in other regions. Additionally, all eligible advertisers will now feature the Facebook Verified badge, adding credibility to their online presence.
The platform has seen positive results from retailers using both free listings and ads. In the U.S., these retailers saw an average of twice as many views and 50 percent more visits. Facebook attributes this success to digital tools and skills being crucial during lockdowns and for economic recovery. However, as of October 2025, no concrete information about specific companies using Local Services Ads in Europe could be found.
Facebook has been actively helping retailers adapt and recover, engaging with over 7,500 businesses across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Progetto Quid, a small fashion business in Verona, Italy, switched to making non-medical masks during lockdown and sold 700,000 using Facebook Ads within two months.
Facebook's global expansion of free product listings and Local Services Ads in Europe aims to boost retailers' online presence and customer reach. With the success of these tools and the engagement with businesses, Facebook continues to support the economic recovery of retailers and their communities.
