Fresh recruitment of 232 trainees for the justice sector
The Ministry of Justice and Migration in Baden-Württemberg has announced the start of training for 232 trainees as judicial administration assistants in the state's justice system for the year 2025. This initiative is part of the ministry's focus on modern and strategically oriented personnel recruitment, as highlighted by the new campaign "#iamthestate".
The trainees will be employed in the public service of the state of Baden-Württemberg and will be paid according to the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L). In the service units of the courts and public prosecutor's offices, payment is usually made according to salary group 9a (TV-L).
The monthly training allowance for judicial administration assistants is as follows: 1,236.82 euros gross in the first year, 1,290.96 euros gross in the second year, and 1,340.61 euros gross in the third year. These figures align with typical third-year apprentice wages in public administration in Baden-Württemberg, with specific figures for this exact role varying slightly.
A total of 2,284 applications were received for the aforementioned training positions. Out of these, 90 trainees were hired from the district of the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe, and 142 trainees were hired from the district of the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart.
Elmar Steinbacher, head of the Ministry of Justice and Migration, welcomed a part of the trainees at the ministry. Career opportunities in the justice system are being made visible, and young talent is being reached via social media through this campaign.
Applications for the training in 2026 are now possible at the Higher Regional Courts of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. One of the two Higher Regional Courts in Baden-Württemberg is responsible for the application and training - depending on which judicial district the activity in the judicial service is sought.
Trainees will be trained at various locations in Baden-Württemberg, including local and regional courts. For more information, applicants can visit the Higher Regional Courts of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart's websites or contact the Ministry of Justice and Migration via their press office or citizen representative, as detailed on their website.
Minister Marion Gentges also announced that trained judicial administration assistants who have completed their exam with good results and meet the requirements for civil service have the opportunity to complete a six-month additional training course for the civil service career of the middle judicial service (judicial administration specialist) after at least one year of professional experience. This provides a pathway for trainees to further their careers within the justice system.
