Girls' Education in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence: Capital City Workshops for Females

In Astana, the "RoboTechnoGirls 2025" educational project has been launched, aiming to engage girls aged 10 to 15 in the world of robotics and technology. This initiative, organised by the RoboTech robotics school, is supported by non-profit organisation TechnoWomen and the Center for Identifying and Supporting Gifted Children "Astana Daryn".

The project's objective is to empower girls for the future by providing them with hands-on experience and knowledge in robotics and cutting-edge technologies. Participants are not just assembling robots; they are learning new technologies during each session, with a focus on the development of future skills and education in robotics.

The project kicked off in early July 2025 and completed its first week. As of mid-July, it was in its second week, with activities continuing. The program will run for six weeks, until August 17.

The project's launch was attended by various dignitaries, including Zhana Beisenbayeva, Aizha Shujeeva, Sanjar Shalkarbekov, and Diana Dusenova. Alua Perneiva, Aiyim's mother, expressed her excitement about her daughter's participation in the program, praising the opportunity provided by the organisers. Alua Perneiva also noted the importance of introducing children to technologies and programming at an early age.

The program takes place offline at two locations in Astana. Classes are conducted in both Kazakh and Russian. Upon completion of the course, all participants will receive certificates acknowledging their acquired knowledge and skills. The project includes individual and team tasks, culminating in the presentation of technical projects by participants.

The RoboTechnoGirls 2025 project is part of a broader technological and educational landscape in Astana, which includes events like the Electronica Expo Kazakhstan 2025 and the ASTANA TECH CUP, a robotics championship.

Alua Perneiva expressed her gratitude for the free nature of the program, considering it an excellent starting point for children in the world of digital technologies. The project is a significant step towards fostering an interest in STEM fields and overcoming gender barriers in technical professions.

The RoboTechnoGirls 2025 project, focusing on artificial-intelligence and technology, offers education and self-development opportunities for girls aged 10 to 15 in robotics. Participants are not only assembling robots but also learning new technologies and future skills during each session, as part of stem-education. The program, which includes events like individual and team tasks, culminating in the presentation of technical projects, is continuing for six weeks until August 17.
