Graduation ceremonies for 383 kindergarten students in local educational institutions
On September 6, 2025, a series of school welcome ceremonies will be held at Greifswald's municipal primary schools, welcoming the new cohort of first-graders.
According to the latest registration figures, a total of 383 children have signed up for the first grade across all schools. Among them, the Martin-Andersen-Nexo-Grundschule will have 87 first-graders in four classes, the Kaethe-Kollwitz-Grundschule will welcome 93, and the Grundschule Greif will accommodate 61 children in a cross-grade setup, with six learning groups in grades 1 and 2.
The Erich-Weinert-Grundschule will also be welcoming 70 children, divided into three regular classes and one diagnostic support group. The specifics regarding the number of children at the Grundschule Greif and the Kaethe-Kollwitz-Grundschule are yet to be announced for the other grades.
The ceremonies at the Erich-Weinert-Grundschule will take place in the auditorium of the Humboldtgymnasium at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. The Karl-Krull-Grundschule, however, will hold its ceremony on the schoolyard (if the weather permits) or in the gym (in case of bad weather).
The exact responsibilities for organising the inauguration celebrations for the new students have not been explicitly stated as of yet. More details about these events are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
These school welcome ceremonies mark an exciting beginning for the new students, and a fresh start for the schools, as they embark on another academic year together.
