Hearth Display Relocates Aid Device to Its Intended Position
Unleashing the Power of Hearth Helper - Enjoy a Smarter Calendar Experience
Stepping up its game, Hearth Display's helpful assistant, Hearth Helper, is now available within the Hearth mobile app, offering users the convenience of texting or emailing customer service to upload events easily, like a school calendar full of events.
Ever since I took a closer look at Hearth Display to see if it's worth the buzz (and the steep $699 price tag that often drops to $599), I couldn't help but find the Hearth Helper an oddity. Initially, I thought the "Helper" would serve as a direct hotline to customer service, but upon clicking the "Helper" option, a pop-up only offered a phone number and email address to send your AI-bulk event upload requests.
Fast-forward to the latest update, and the Hearth Helper is now more accessible than ever. To enjoy its benefits, first, ensure your Hearth mobile app is up-to-date. You'll get a full-screen notification prompting you to update, as I did – it was the first time for me! Post-update, the Hearth Helper icon can be found as a chat box at the upper-right corner of the screen, next to the notification bell. That's a significant improvement from its past location, nestled right next to the Calendar, Lists, and Routines menus on the Hearth Display.

Mastering the Hearth Helper in the Mobile App
Now that you've updated the app, using the Hearth Helper couldn't be easier. The AI assistant will guide you through the process, giving examples of the text you can use to create appointments or simply letting you snap a picture of your schedule with your phone camera. I was curious about processing time, so I made a few test requests:
- Creating a basic appointment took under a minute for the AI to send me a "Pending Event" for approval.
- Uploading the New York City Department of Education 2024-2025 School Year Calendar as a grainy photo of my laptop screen took less than a minute, and the imported events were well-formatted!

However, there are a few restrictions to keep in mind:
- Upload Limitations: You can't upload Lists (like to-do or grocery lists) or Routines with the Hearth Helper.
- Format Restrictions: You'll have to stick with basic pictures; the Hearth Helper can't handle uploads from URLs, Word docs, Google sheets, or other formats.
- AI Management: Remember, Hearth Helper is run solely by AI. If you ever need human assistance, don't hesitate to email [email protected].
Is Hearth Helper Worth It?

Surprisingly, I've found myself second-guessing my initial reservations about the Hearth Helper. One concern was that the feature would import a mess of disorganized clutter into my calendar. After my tests, however, I'm reassured: the imported events are clearly organized, easily manageable, and even editable.
Admittedly, I'm picky when it comes to calendar management, but the Hearth Helper's bulk uploading feature may just make my life easier during back-to-school season, planning the new year, or whenever my kids join a new extracurricular or club. While it may not meet my preferred manual calendar management style, the Hearth Helper allows for quicker event management with less effort, and that's something we could all use!
Enrichment: How to Use Hearth Helper on Mobile

To take advantage of Hearth Helper on your mobile device to bulk upload events easily, follow these steps:
- Update the Hearth Companion App: Make sure the app is up-to-date for optimal functionality.
- Find the Hearth Helper Icon: Next to the notification bell within the app, look for the chat box icon – that's the Hearth Helper!
- Prepare Your Calendar Picture: Take a clear, well-lit photo of your schedule to upload to the Hearth Helper. Remember, the app can only process basic pictures, not PDFs or other formats.
- Upload Your Picture: Using the camera icon, select the picture you've prepared or grab one from your gallery. The app will process the image using AI.
- Review and Approve Events: Once the AI processes your picture, you'll receive a list of "Pending Events." Review them, approve them individually, or reject them individually, and manage them within the app as necessary.
- Manage Imported Events: After approval, these events will be added to your Hearth calendar. Feel free to edit them as needed.
pro-tip: Uploading a full year's calendar in one go won't work; send multiple photos to cover all the events, as the Hearth Helper can't process multiple-month calendars in a single image.

- The Hearth Helper, a tech assistant within the Hearth mobile app, can guide you in uploading events directly to your calendars, such as a school calendar, via text or email.
- Upon updating the Hearth mobile app, users can easily access the Hearth Helper icon, now displayed as a chat box at the upper-right corner of the screen, for effortless use.
- Preferably, when uploading schedules or calendars to the Hearth Helper, take clear images with good lighting to ensure accurate processing and proper event formatting.
