Hockinson School District Enhances Student Support with Otus Platform

Hockinson School District (HSD) is set to enhance student support and tracking from the 2025-26 school year onwards. The district has partnered with Otus and Discovery Education, with Otus' platform selected to centralize various academic tools and data. This move aims to improve educator effectiveness and student progress visualization, while also saving the district money.

Otus, a platform designed to support educators, will provide HSD teachers with professional development through its team of experts. Steve Marshall, HSD Superintendent, believes Otus will help educators set achievable goals for each student and support them more effectively. The platform will also strengthen the connection between families and schools by offering clear updates and progress reports.

The Otus platform will integrate data from various sources, including Mystery Science by Discovery Education. Jessica Lasher, Senior Educational Partnerships Manager at Discovery Education, expressed excitement about the collaboration with HSD. Otus and Discovery Education have previously collaborated to support student achievement, with more details available on their respective websites.

Starting in the 2025-26 school year, HSD will use the Otus platform to track student learning and growth. This move aligns with the district's focus on student programs and academic achievement, despite Washington State's funding shortfall. Other U.S. school districts, such as Kettle Moraine School District in Wisconsin and Columbia Public Schools in Missouri, are already working with Otus, demonstrating the platform's potential to support student success.
