Icar-RCER, Patna holds the 23rd IMC meeting; Dr. P.S. Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Dr. RPCAU, emphasizes the importance of collaborative, innovative research.
The 23rd Institute Management Committee (IMC) meeting of the ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER) was held on May 23, 2025. The meeting, which took place at ICAR-RCER, was attended by agricultural scientists, administrators, and policymakers, including Dr. P.S. Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU), Samastipur.
The meeting was formally welcomed by Vipul Raj, Member Secretary, IMC. Dr. Monobrullah, Principal Scientist, ATARI, Patna, and Dr. S.S. Rathore, Head of Agronomy, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), were among those present. Several experts joined the meeting virtually, including Dr. A. Velamgur, ADG (NRM); Dr. S. Ghatak, Head (Animal Science), ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Regions; and Dr. K.P. Mohapatra, Principal Scientist, NBPGR, New Delhi.
Rajesh Sahay, Director (Finance), ICAR Headquarters, New Delhi, was also present. The meeting focused on strategic discussions on capacity building, future projects, and resource optimization. Dr. Das, expressing optimism about the collaboration, expressed hope for increased cooperation in academic, research, and field-level interventions in the coming years.
During his visit, Dr. Punyavrat Suvimalendu Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Dr. RPCAU, Pusa, Samastipur, toured various research facilities at ICAR-RCER. The meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks given by Pushpanayak, CAO.
An extension folder on weed management was released during the meeting. Heads of Departments of ICAR-RCER such as Dr. Ashutosh Upadhyaya, Dr. Kamal Sarma, Dr. A.K. Chaudhary, and Dr. Ujjwal Kumar were present. All agenda items were thoroughly discussed, and constructive suggestions were provided.
