Inspiring Community Actions: 30 Pioneers in Environmental and Civic Education Set to Inspire Change
The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) has unveiled a new class of 30 fellows as part of their CEE-Change Fellowship program. These educators and community leaders hail from seven countries, including the United States and its territories, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Canada, Germany, Mexico, and Uganda.
The CEE-Change Fellowship focuses on leadership and innovation in civics and environmental education across the nation. Each fellow will create and execute a community action project that seeks to advance a more equitable and sustainable future, aligning with the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) core mission to provide Americans with clean air, land, and water.
The fellowship runs from July 1, 2021, to December 31, 2022, and offers professional development and leadership training, an opportunity to grow a professional network, scholarship funds to attend the 2021 Annual NAAEE Conference, opportunities to apply for mini-grant funds and professional development funds, and more.
The CEE-Change Fellowship is uniquely positioned due to the support of the US EPA and a generous grant from the Cedar Tree Foundation. It is part of the National Environmental Education Training Program established by the US EPA's Office of Environmental Education.
The North American Association for Environmental Education, established five decades ago, works with professionals across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as globally. The CEE-Change Fellowship projects vary greatly depending on community needs, addressing complex environmental and social concerns at local, regional, and national levels.
