Kazakhstan's President Backs Women's Economic Empowerment at Almaty Meeting

A significant event took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where an expert zoom meeting was held to explore tools expanding women's economic opportunities. The zoom meeting, attended by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, highlighted the growing role of women in the country's entrepreneurship landscape.

The zoom meeting, reported by local media outlet Almaty.tv, discussed the progress made in supporting women's entrepreneurship. With over half of registered individual entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan being women, several projects have been implemented to foster this growth. The share of women engaged in small and medium-sized businesses has exceeded 43%, leading to over a million citizens being employed.

The event also celebrated the increasing number of women in leadership positions and the establishment of a special quota for women in Parliament. President Tokayev emphasised the importance of ensuring women's rights and creating conditions for their full potential, stating that the progress of nations depends on it.

The expert zoom meeting in Almaty underscored the significant strides made in Kazakhstan towards empowering women economically. With women making up a substantial portion of entrepreneurs and leaders, the country continues to foster an environment that supports and celebrates their contributions to society and the economy.
