Kazakhstan's Schoolchildren Shine at IMO-2023, Win 6 Medals
Kazakhstani students have made a remarkable showing at the 64th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO-2023), held in Chiba, Japan. The young mathematicians brought home six medals, including two silvers and four bronzes. The Kazakh team's performance placed them 21st globally at the IMO-2023, with a total of 618 students from 112 countries participating. The winners, Zhan Dautov, Batyrkhan Sakenov, Vladimir Rogovskiy, Margulan Sharel, Miron Yurkevich, and Raimbek Baiyshauyk, were awarded cash prizes and recognition for their achievements. Coached by dedicated mentors, these students have been honing their skills and competing at international levels for years. Their success has not only brought pride to Kazakhstan but also opened doors to university admissions without taking the Unified National Test. The director of the Republican Scientific-Practical Center 'Daryn', Aidarbekov Bauyrzhan, oversees the team's progress and ensures their hard work is rewarded. Over the years, Kazakh students have amassed an impressive collection of 16 gold, 44 silver, 75 bronze medals, and 28 honorable mentions at international mathematical olympiads. The IMO-2023 results further cement their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the world of mathematical competitions.
