Kerala's Netrasemi Raises Rs 107 Cr to Expand AI Semiconductor Offerings
Kerala-based semiconductor startup Netrasemi has secured Rs 107 crore in a Series A funding round. The company aims to accelerate its growth and expand its product offerings.
Netrasemi focuses on developing system-on-chips (SoCs) for smart IoT products. The startup has already completed development of two SoC products targeting TSMC's 12nm technology node. With the recent funding, Netrasemi plans to bring four SoC variants to production and double its workforce from 83 to 166 professionals.
The funding round was led by Zoho Corporations Ltd and Unicorn India Ventures. Zoho's investment is a strategic move to support the growth of India's deep-tech ecosystem and indigenous innovation. Netrasemi's chips perform advanced AI-based analytics directly on devices, eliminating the need for cloud or server data transfer. In the last 12 months, the startup has developed two Edge-AI chips and initiated CCTV AI camera chip development, securing OEM interest along the way.
Netrasemi will use the funds to accelerate R&D, expand manufacturing, and enhance marketing efforts. The startup aims to complete full mask production of all three SoC families and initiate R&D for next-generation ultra-high performance SoC within the next 12-18 months, further solidifying its position in the AI-based semiconductor market.
