In the bustling city of Parkville, Missouri, Park University has been making waves this October. From academic accolades to community involvement, the university has been a beacon of achievement.

Brittanie Propes, a Park University alumna from 2013, was featured in the Mid-Continent Public Library's "Nice to Meet You" series on the 8th of October. Meanwhile, on the 29th, Harris, another notable figure at the university, was interviewed by WDAF-TV regarding Missouri's proposed Amendment 3.

The Park University Parkville Campus women's golf team has been a standout success this year. They clinched a 3rd place finish at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship in the spring and their head coach, Martha Linscott, was named the 2025 Heart Women's Golf Co-Coach of the Year. Freshman Anna Korsen was also honoured as the 2025 Heart Women's Golf Freshman of the Year.

The team's achievements did not go unnoticed at the NAIA level, as they earned their first-ever NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches' Top 25 ranking on the 17th, coming in at No. 25.

Academic prowess was also on display, with Camille Cook, director of library services, and Danielle Theiss, former director of library, academic and career success services, authoring the book "The Small to Mid-Size Academic Library: Collaborations and Outreach."

Park University was well-represented in the September issue of Ingram's, a Kansas City business magazine, as part of the Ingram's 250. The university's International Center for Music was also highlighted in the October edition of Kansas City magazine.

In the realm of research, Yang Sun, Ph.D., co-authored "Telehealth Strategies and Workforce Support in Applied Behavior Analysis Services During a Pandemic," and Monica Brannon, Ph.D., authored an article on "Uranium Mining Remediation, Environmental Assessment and Bureaucratic Violence Environmental Sociology."

John Hamilton, Ph.D. (emeritus) and Tamera Jenkins, Ph.D. co-authored the third edition of Community Justice.

The university's community involvement extended beyond academics, with Harris providing comments for several stories on various topics such as political discourse and civility, ballot language for proposed amendments, parental rights, and anti-trans messages.

Park University students also made headlines. David Jackson, an alumnus from 2002, was appointed as the chief of police in Englewood, Colorado. Joshua Lewis, an alumnus from 2014, saw his Updown Nightlife app being acquired by BarGlance in a $5 million deal. Jose Madrid, a graduate student, was named to the Great Bend (Kansas) Tribune's "20 Under 40" list in October.

The Parkville (Mo.) Symphonic Band will host a concert of heroic and Halloween music on November 10. Upcoming events also include the International Festival on November 22, and the International Center for Music Concert: ICM Strings Studios on November 14.

In the realm of rankings, SmartyPal.com ranked Park University No. 19 on its "30 Best Online Healthcare Management Degree Programs" list. Lt. Gen. Robert Skinner, another alumnus from 1989, retired as the director of the Defense Information Systems Agency, a significant milestone in his career.

These achievements and recognitions underscore the vibrant and dynamic nature of Park University, a institution that continues to make a significant impact in the community and beyond.
