Goodbyes to Pillars of the Council

Bidding adieu to some of the council's veterans, including Pia Rosenberg, Malik Simsek, and Nele Vogel, marked the beginning of the meeting. The council appreciated their tireless service over multiple tenures.

Top Spots for Representatives from Hanau and Offenbach

The Hohen Landesschule in Hanau's Laurenz Spies was elected the new state school speaker, while Luca Albert Dobrita from Offenbach took up one of the two deputy positions. Rounding off the trio is Ted Kramer from the Leibniz School in Wiesbaden, who also joins the executive board.

Key Focus Areas for the New Term

Situating themselves squarely at the intersection of innovation and tradition, the new executive board is set to address several topics in the coming months. According to state school speaker Laurenz Spies, their focal points include democratic education, mental health, and a comprehensive statewide student survey.

In his own words, Laurenz expresses his optimism for the upcoming term: "I'm excited about what the next six months have in store for us. I firmly believe that, much like we've done in the past six months, we can achieve great things as a team."

Luca Albert Dobrita, too, underlines the substance-driven mindset of the new council: "I'm eager to collaborate with our new team. It's crucial that we continually refine our projects––from digitalization and political education to artificial intelligence."

Additional Appointments and New Project Leaders

Elton Maksutaj from the Max-Eyth School in Dreieich takes charge of the legal department. Jan Schnorrenberger from Darmstadt-Dieburg is now at the helm of the press and public relations department. Furthermore, the council has appointed fresh blood to lead various projects.

Proposed Members for the State School Council

Laurenz Spies and Ted Kramer have been nominated for the State School Council, an advisory body to the Hessian Ministry of Culture. Kramer explains the significance of this committee: "As a panel that directly advises our Ministry of Culture and is enshrined in the Hessian School Act, this committee plays a pivotal role".

With their new team in place, the HSSC is geared up to tackle the challenges ahead.
