Maintaining Social Distancing is the Primary means of COVID-19 Prevention

In a survey conducted among 2,600 customers of Medlife, India's largest e-Health platform, several interesting findings have emerged regarding the public's response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Ananth Narayanan, Co-founder and CEO of Medlife, shared that the survey highlighted the importance of community health as a key aspect of individual health. He also stated that most respondents are taking the lockdown seriously and understand the importance of isolating themselves during the pandemic.

The survey results showed that a large majority of respondents have been using sanitizers and masks more frequently over the last month. Frequent hand washing and use of sanitizers are also common among surveyed Medlife customers. In addition, 87% of respondents reported washing their hands regularly.

When it comes to diet, nearly a third of the respondents have strengthened their diet with immunity boosters to protect against COVID-19. A significant number of Medlife customers (23%) are practicing meditation for mental well-being during the lockdown.

However, the survey also revealed concerns about access to essentials. Nearly half the respondents were concerned about access to groceries and transport, and over a third were concerned about the ready availability of medicines.

Ananth Narayanan also pointed out that the survey showed respondents understand the importance of social distancing, with 89% practicing it. He also noted that 84% of respondents believe that the governments are doing enough to contain the spread of the virus.

Interestingly, approximately 85% of respondents believe there is excess information on COVID-19 in social media. This suggests that while people are seeking information, they may be overwhelmed by the volume of content available.

Finally, the frequency of house cleaning has increased among 56% of the surveyed Medlife customers, indicating a heightened awareness of cleanliness as a means of preventing the spread of the virus.

In conclusion, the survey provides valuable insights into the public's response to the pandemic and the measures they are taking to protect themselves and their communities. It also highlights areas where further efforts may be needed, such as ensuring access to essentials and managing the flow of information.
