The Bagmati Province Government has announced a competition aimed at secondary-level students (Grades 11-12) to promote creative engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). The competition, still ongoing, has not passed the 15-day application submission period, which began on 2082/01/08.

Interested student groups have until 2082/01/23 to submit their applications. Applications sent late or without meeting the format and document requirements will not be considered. Applications can be submitted in-person at the Directorate of Education Development in Hetauda or via email as a PDF file.

Up to ten schools will be selected for the second phase of the competition. Selected student groups will be given 15 days to develop the proposed STEAM learning materials. Each selected group will be eligible to receive financial support of up to NPR 30,000.

The competition is governed by the "Guidelines for Conducting School-Level Competitions in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), 2081." Applications must adhere to the format prescribed in Schedule-2, Sections (Ka) and (Kha) of the Guidelines.

The competition is for the development of STEAM learning materials applicable for classroom use in Grades 4 to 8. The materials should be practical and engaging, fostering a hands-on approach to learning.

Competitions like this, focusing on creative and interdisciplinary projects, are common in Nepal and often encourage submissions that develop practical STEAM learning materials or models. For more information, students and schools are encouraged to check official websites or education departments of Bagmati Province or Nepal’s Ministry of Education for announcements. Following local education forums or platforms for updates on deadlines and procedures may also be beneficial. Directly contacting schools or local STEAM organizations in Bagmati Province may yield the most recent and relevant details.
