Stefan Zimkeit Advocates for "Good Schools 2030" Investment Program in North Rhine-Westphalia

Stefan Zimkeit, a member of the SPD political party and the state parliament for Oberhausen-Sterkrade and Dinslaken, is urging for the remedying of a missing successor program to the "Good Schools 2020" initiative. Zimkeit is advocating for the launch of the "Good Schools 2030" program, which he believes is crucial for the future of education in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).

Zimkeit highlights the need for investment in schools, particularly in Oberhausen and Buschhausen. He emphasizes the importance of expanding the primary school in Buschhausen, following the closure of a branch, and the necessity of a new comprehensive school in the east of Oberhausen, estimated to cost approximately 85 million euros. Additionally, Zimkeit also underscores the need for investment in St. Michael's Main School in Buschhausen.

The "Good Schools 2030" program, if launched, would be part of NRW's ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure and quality. The current school law in NRW addresses issues in about 4,000 schools with high proportions of socially disadvantaged students[1]. This context suggests a continued focus on improving educational facilities, likely aligned with the goals of programs such as "Good Schools 2030."

While there is no direct information available on Zimkeit’s specific advocacy role or actions related to this investment program, his commitment to social and educational issues in NRW is well-documented. Zimkeit's advocacy for the "Good Schools 2030" program is a testament to his dedication to ensuring a brighter future for the children of NRW.

The "Good Schools 2020" program, which provided 31 million euros for Oberhausen, was a success and facilitated important school construction projects. The proposed investment programs are aimed at improving schools in NRW, with a focus on school construction and renovation.

As NRW continues to navigate the challenges posed by the current economic situation, the need for investment in education becomes even more pressing. Zimkeit argues that the state of NRW cannot avoid its responsibility for education and that investing in the future of its children is an investment in the future of the state itself.
