Nursing's Forward Path
In the picturesque town of Starnberg, Germany, the Starnberger Kliniken recently held a graduation ceremony for its nursing trainees, class 2225. The event, which took place in the festively decorated foyer of the Residence of the Starnberger Kliniken, was a celebration of the achievements of 18 trainees who have completed their three-year training.
Jasmin Taube, the CEO of the Klinikum Starnberg, congratulated the graduates and highlighted that almost all of them will remain at the clinic. Taube praised the positive development of the training at the Starnberger Kliniken in recent years, attributing the success to the great willingness to learn and team spirit exhibited by the trainees.
The graduation ceremony was a moment of pride for the trainees, who received their certificates amidst loud applause. Three students, Laura-Marie Schmidt, Luzie Fella, and Simone Aichler, were honoured with the Bavarian State Prize for their outstanding achievements.
The deputy medical director of the Klinikum Starnberg, Prof. Dr. Arnold Trupka, and the nursing director of the Klinikum Starnberg, Martin Endres, expressed satisfaction about the large number of trainees continuing to work at the Starnberger Kliniken. Endres emphasized the importance of empathy and a sense of responsibility in the nursing profession.
School director Daniela Matzke gave an emotional speech at the ceremony, praising the achievements of the graduates. Matzke, who has overseen the training programme, spoke about the challenges faced during the three years but also highlighted the great progress made by the trainees.
The graduation ceremony was followed by a convivial get-together with food and drinks, where the graduates, their families, and the staff of the Starnberger Kliniken celebrated the occasion. Two new training classes for nursing assistants will start at the Starnberger Kliniken's vocational school in September 2025, with a total of seven classes beginning at the school.
Simone Aichler and Theresa Hein, the student representatives, spoke about their training period, expressing gratitude for the support they received and looking forward to new challenges. As the Starnberger Kliniken continues to grow and develop, it is clear that the future of nursing in the region is in safe hands.
