The Indian Council of Agricultural Research's Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) in New Delhi is seeking a dedicated professional for a contractual position under the ANRF-funded project, "Deciphering the seed transmission of turnip mosaic virus in mustard: From prevalence to mechanism".

The Institute is offering a temporary position of Project Associate-II (PA-II) for a single vacancy within the Division of Plant Pathology. The position is co-terminus with the project and does not guarantee a regular appointment at ICAR-IARI.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are expected to have a Post Graduate Degree in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, or any relevant Life Science discipline with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. They should also have at least two years of experience in R&D in academic/industrial/research organizations in science and technology.

Candidates must have qualified any one of the following national eligibility processes:

  1. NET exams such as CSIR/UGC/ARS/GATE including lectureship (Assistant Professorship).
  2. National level exams conducted by Central Government Departments/agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, ICAR, ICMR, IISc, IIT, IISER, etc. (as per ANRF OM No. ANRF/OM/N-01/2024).

Application Process

Interested candidates must submit their applications via email with their CV and scanned copies of supporting documents to by 14th August 2025. Applications not in the prescribed format or incomplete will be rejected without notice.

On the day of the interview, candidates should bring two hard copies of the application form, self-attested photocopies of all certificates, original certificates for verification, two recent passport-size photographs, No Objection Certificate (if already employed), and a declaration form (if a relative is employed at ICAR/IARI).

Important Notes

  • Late arrivals will not be entertained for the interview.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  • The upper age limit is 50 years with relaxation as per GOI/ICAR norms.
  • The monthly remuneration for candidates fulfilling essential qualifications is Rs. 42,000/- + HRA per month.
  • The employment is subject to project funding and performance.
  • The institute reserves the right to cancel/postpone the interview or modify the number of posts.
