Organic Farming Triumph: Transforming Adversity into Prosperity - Jitendra Kumar's Journey to Establishing a 10 Lakh Rs Organic Farming Enterprise with Forest Soil and Jeevamrut

Jitendra Kumar, a farmer from Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh, is redefining organic and natural farming in India. With a dual degree in Physical Education and Science, Jitendra initially pursued a career in the bioproducts industry but was forced to leave due to an accident.

However, this setback did not deter Jitendra from making a significant impact in the agricultural sector. Through his training sessions and field demonstrations, he inspires hundreds of farmers to shift towards environmentally responsible and economically sustainable farming practices.

Jitendra's work in promoting sustainable agriculture has led to him becoming a district-level agricultural pioneer and a beacon of hope for a greener, healthier future in Indian agriculture. He is affiliated with the Department of Horticulture at Rama University, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and has published research on integrated nutrient management affecting the growth and yield of crops such as Capsicum.

Jitendra gained in-depth knowledge about organic preparations such as Jeevamrut and the Waste Decomposer through training at the National Centre for Organic and Natural Farming in Ghaziabad. He promotes the philosophy of "Use Less, Earn More" and trains farmers on low-cost organic farming methods to cut down expenses on fertilizers and pesticides, even organic ones.

Jitendra's Jeevamrut formula, incorporating forest soil, significantly enhances the microbial diversity and effectiveness of the solution. He uses a unique modification of Jeevamrut, collecting virgin soil from deep forest areas rich in microbial life and natural nutrients for the preparation. This approach aims to rejuvenate the land by introducing nutrient-rich, microbe-laden forest soil, which helps revive the soil's natural fertility and reduces dependency on external inputs.

Jitendra's approach to farming also strongly advocates for the restoration of soil's original microbial life, similar to pre-Green Revolution levels, for long-term sustainability. His Jeevamrut version requires only one application during land preparation at a dose of 25 liters per acre, reducing labor and cost compared to conventional methods.

In 2024, Jitendra's Basmati rice harvest yielded an impressive 19.6 quintals per acre, making him the highest Basmati yielder in Auraiya district. He distributes one liter each of his Jeevamrut and Waste Decomposer free of cost to every interested farmer to help democratize access to organic solutions.

Jitendra earns approximately ₹10 lakh annually through his organic farming endeavors. His story exemplifies how sustainable farming can be a solution not just for individual prosperity but for ecological well-being, blending traditional wisdom with modern understanding. Jitendra cultivates a diverse range of crops, including paddy, maize, pigeon pea, and potato, on his 8-acre landholding using entirely organic methods. He has received multiple recognitions from the state government for his contributions to organic farming and currently serves as a full-time trainer for Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) initiatives.

Jitendra became part of the "Global Farmer Business Network" initiative on our website. His work may not yet be publicly documented online or within the searched sources regarding his impact specifically in Auraiya district on organic farming or soil health. You may consider contacting Rama University’s Department of Horticulture or BIRAC for more precise studies or reports on his work in this area.

Jitendra Kumar, through his dedication to education and self-development, has turned setbacks into opportunities, using his knowledge in Science and Physical Education to revolutionize organic farming in India. His focus on learning about organic preparations and low-cost farming methods has led him to become an influential figure in sustainable agriculture, inspiring hundreds of farmers and promoting a greener future for Indian agriculture.
