Park University Advances Scott Fergerson to the Role of Chief Financial Officer, Enlists John Huber as New Director for Corporate Development and Admissions
New Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Development Announced at Park University
Scott Fergerson has been promoted to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Park University, effective from February 2, 2025. Fergerson, who previously served as interim CFO at Park University after being appointed as the chief business officer in July 2022, brings a unique portfolio of nonprofit, corporate, and athletic experience to his new position.
Prior to joining Park University, Fergerson spent a significant portion of his career in public accounting as an auditor at RSM US LLP and BKD LLP. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international business from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., and a Master of Science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Fergerson joined Park University in November 2016 as controller and was later promoted to controller and associate vice president of finance in July 2021.
In his new role as CFO, Fergerson will lead the financial operations of Park University, maintaining financial stability, driving growth initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
John Huber, a resident of Olathe, Kan., has also been appointed to a key role at Park University. Huber will serve as the Director of Corporate Development and Admissions. He spent 13 years (2008-21) as the Executive Pastor over Family Ministries at Westside Family Church in Lenexa, Kan., and has been the Director of Operations at Single Source Printing in Lenexa since 2001.
Huber's primary responsibilities will focus on business development and driving new student enrollment. In his new role, he will establish and maintain strategic relationships between the University and corporate entities.
Huber also holds a Master of Science degree in business and organizational leadership from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa., and a Master of Education degree in elementary education and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, both from La Roche University in Pittsburgh, Pa. Prior to his role at Maranatha Christian Academy in Shawnee, Kan., from July 2024, Huber's educational background was primarily in the field of psychology and education.
