Preparatory Lessons for Job Interviews: 'Interview-Ready' Programs
In the city where the career mentoring project has been collaborating with schools for almost 15 years, over 400 young people have benefited from its training offer this year, setting a new record.
The project, funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, offers individual support for students in their search for apprenticeship positions. This includes a "Fit for the Job Interview" training, such as the one held at the Elisabeth-Selbert School in Zierenberg.
During the training, 64 students participated and practiced presenting themselves for apprenticeship interviews. They received valuable feedback on their application documents and personal appearance from 10 volunteer career mentors.
The career mentors find their commitment rewarding and enjoy contact with young people. One student expressed appreciation for the training, stating they now know what they can improve. The students also receive regular further training and reflection discussions to prepare them for their tasks.
The career mentoring project has been instrumental in helping students prepare for apprenticeship interviews. One student said, "I appreciate the training because now I know what I can improve."
