Proposed Action by the Committee
The European Youth Campus, an international project aimed at fostering dialogue and cooperation between young people from various European countries, is coming to Detmold. From July 23rd to 28th, the project titled "GiveEUvoice" will be hosted in our city, bringing together young people from France, Spain, Greece, Poland, North Macedonia, Slovakia, and Cyprus.
On July 27th, the panel discussion, open to the public, will take place at the Detmold Town Hall, starting at 9:30 AM in the large meeting room. The event is free and does not require registration.
The topics of the panel discussion will not only cover those of the younger generation but also include a broader range of subjects. The main focus of the discussion is on the ideas and experiences of the young people themselves. They will present their ideas, wishes, and demands directly to representatives from politics, administration, and civil society during the panel discussion.
The panel discussion aims to explore ways to make youth participation more effective, both in Detmold and at the European level. The event is aimed at those seeking dialogue with the younger generation and committed to Europe's future.
Alongside the young participants, the panel will feature Dr. Miriam Mikus, the mayor of our city portal, Dr. Thorsten Hasche from the city of Duisburg, and Arne Brand, chairman of the Lippische Society for Politics and Contemporary History.
The panel discussion will be in English, and the focus is on direct, eye-level dialogue. The European Youth Campus in Detmold is an opportunity for local youth to discuss political participation, European cooperation, and future prospects with these esteemed panelists.
The names of the young participants from the seven European countries attending the panel discussion on July 27th in the Grand Council Hall of Detmold City Hall are not publicly available at this time.
We invite everyone interested in fostering dialogue with the younger generation and committed to Europe's future to join us at the panel discussion on July 27th at 9:30 AM in the large meeting room at Detmold Town Hall. Let's come together to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of Europe and its young people.
