Luise Boerner and Deborah Oehler, the visionaries behind the musical social initiative "Musaik – Music Without Borders," are receiving the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. This prestigious honor will be bestowed upon them by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on May 22 at Delitzsch's remarkable Baroque Palace.

The project's mission is to ignite the spark of creativity within children through music, providing them with opportunities for shared music-making. With the project "Musaik," these dynamic duo offers young musicians an instrument to call their own, coupled with first-rate musical education. More than a hundred young minds from over 20 nations have already taken part in this program, mastering string and wind instruments, and strutting their stuff on stage during captivating concerts.

Established in 2017 based on the Venezuelan model of "El Sistema," "Musaik" offers free lessons and instruments to children from underprivileged backgrounds, a significant number of whom hail from refugee families. The project enjoys the support of the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden.
