Region of Krasnodar Persists in Shortage of Skilled Professionals, as Evidenced by Diana Lipinskaya's Case
Krasnodar, May 13 - Yug Times
Krasnodar Krai, a prominent region in Russia, is witnessing a significant rise in its workforce. Yet, despite the influx of around 30 to 40 thousand labor migrants annually, the area still grapples with a shortage of skilled workers, according to Diana Lipinsky, the Deputy Chair of the YURK AEB. This labor deficiency is one of the factors impeding the region's economic growth, as she stated at the conference "HR Leadership: Answers to the Challenges of Time" held in Krasnodar.
The region is actively participating in the national project to enhance labor productivity. However, the Ministry of Economy reports a vacancy count of nearly 192 thousand workers, with 100 thousand positions remaining unfilled due to this shortage. As Chair of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko pointed out, there is a growing need to retain talented youth in regions to prevent them from migrating to the capital, thus preventing Moscow from being the sole draw for talent.
Ms. Lipinsky emphasized the growing inclination among businesses to secure employees right from the start of their education, aiming to cultivate their human capital.
Labor shortages in Krasnodar Krai are part of a broader national trend affecting various sectors, including tourism, agriculture, and industry. Issues include labor market stagnation due to overall economic difficulties, shortages in specific sectors, inadequate practical training, declining agricultural jobs, and the need for migrant labor solutions. Addressing these challenges requires coordinated efforts in education reform, migration policy, and industrial modernization to enhance workforce development and talent retention in Krasnodar Krai.
- To combat the labor shortage and enhance workforce development in Krasnodar Krai, businesses are increasingly focusing on securing employees from the start of their education, aiming for personal growth and a lifetime of professional support.
- As part of the national effort to retain talent, there is a growing need to invest in education-and-self-development programs within regions like Krasnodar Krai, encouraging personal growth and skill acquisition to counteract the temptation for the talented youth to migrate to urban centers.
