Russian Schools Prepare for Drone Attacks with Monthly Emergency Drills
In Krasnodar Krai, educational institutions are taking unprecedented measures to ensure pupil safety. Gymnazia No. 54, among others, holds regular drills to prepare for various emergency situations, including unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks.
The school's basement shelter can accommodate up to 280 pupils, but with a student body of 500, space is at a premium. Despite this, pupils and teachers practice emergency procedures monthly. These drills cover not only UAV threats but also hostage situations and building bombings.
During a recent drill, students from Gymnazia No. 54 calmly descended to the shelter when the alarm sounded. Younger students were instructed to move desks away from windows for added protection. In case of a UAV threat, remaining students were told to take cover in the hallway, sit on the floor, and protect their heads with their hands.
These drills, held across Krasnodar Krai, aim to ensure that pupils and teachers are well-prepared for any emergency. While the specific name of the school is not mentioned, the importance of such drills is clear, given the potential threats in today's world.
