Schmalkalden-Meiningen Launches 2026 Family Calendar: A Practical Planner and Support Gateway
The Schmalkalden-Meiningen district office has launched its 2026 family calendar, a free resource that serves as a practical annual planner and a gateway to local support services. This year's calendar, published in an edition of 2,000 copies, is artistically designed by students and aims to inform families about important support structures. The calendar project is part of the Netzwerk Kinderprotektion / Frühhilfe's public relations work, now in its third year. It lists crucial contact persons and support offers on its back pages, including a women's shelter, intervention center Hanna, police, White Ring, counseling and family counseling centers, children's hospice, and specialist offices of the district administration. The calendar is designed to be visible and accessible, with its artistic design created by students of the design and media technology department at the vocational school in Schmalkalden. The idea for this year's design came from an artist. The layout, image processing, and typesetting were implemented by Dörthe Heilmann-Lang, a teacher at the school, in collaboration with the students. The calendar is coordinated by Sandra Paula, caseworker for child protection and network coordination at the district administration, with a maximum of ten copies allowed per institution. The 2026 family calendar is now available free of charge and can also be accessed online at www.kinderschutz.lra-sm.de. It is much more than a practical annual planner; it serves as a tool to make people in the district aware of support offers and to be present in everyday life. The district office aims to inform families about important support structures through this calendar project.
