Stanislav Ioudenitch Inducted into Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame
Stanislav Ioudenitch, the founder and artistic director of the International Center for Music (ICM) in Kansas City, has been inducted into the prestigious Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held at the Steinway factory in New York City on Sept. 29, 2021.
Ioudenitch's mastery as a mentor is evident in the accomplishments of his proteges. Under his guidance, students of the ICM have earned numerous awards. Kenny Broberg, a graduate student at the ICM, is a prime example. Broberg won the bronze medal at the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition and the gold medal at the 2021 American Pianists Association's American Pianists Awards. Prior to this, Broberg was the silver medalist at the 15th Van Cliburn event in 2017.
The ICM, founded by Ioudenitch in 2003, is recognised for nurturing and producing piano artists with numerous awards. Another notable student of Ioudenitch is Behzod Abduraimov, an artist-in-residence at the ICM, who won the 2009 London International Piano Competition.
Ioudenitch's individuality and musical conviction have earned him widespread recognition. He won the gold medal at the 11th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2001. His local and global contribution to piano education and performance was recognised with his induction into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame. Gordon McNelly, owner and president of the Steinway Piano Gallery of Kansas City, nominated Ioudenitch for the prestigious honour.
Gavin English, president of Steinway & Sons Americas, stated that music education has been a significant aspect of their company since the late 1800s. English praised the work of Ioudenitch and the ICM, describing it as deserving the highest praise.
The Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame is a prestigious designation for North America's most committed and passionate piano educators. Ioudenitch joins an esteemed group of inductees, including Dr. Sergio Monteiro, an award-winning international Steinway artist and director of piano at Oklahoma City University, and Ingrid Jacobson Clarfield, Professor of Piano Emerita at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. Prof. Peter Nguyen and Dr. Betty Yuan were also inducted in the same timeframe, though their specific induction year isn't confirmed as 2021 in the results available.
The ICM continues to foster passion, creativity, and discipline in the next generation of piano artists, as recognised by Steinway & Sons. The contribution of the ICM to the global piano community by producing award-winning pianists like Broberg and Abduraimov cannot be overstated. It was an absolute privilege for McNelly to nominate Ioudenitch for the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame.
