Swinburne University Brings Australian Excellence to Qatar with New Partnership

Swinburne University of Technology, an Australian institution, has partnered with Barzan University College (BUC) in Doha to offer its qualifications in Qatar for the first time. The collaboration will introduce in-demand programs, focusing on practical skills aligned with Qatar's national development goals.

The partnership will launch a range of programs, including degrees in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, business, and Swinburne's foundation program. These courses will equip students with job-ready skills, supporting Qatar's fast-evolving economy and the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Swinburne Vice-Chancellor Professor Pascale Quester views this alliance as a significant step in the university's global strategy, aiming to become a globally connected and accessible institution. BUC, a newly established private higher education institution, seeks to disrupt Qatar's tertiary education landscape by offering high-quality, practical, and industry-aligned qualifications. The partnership marks a new chapter in Australia's international education story, providing students in the Middle East direct access to Australian excellence.

The partnership between Swinburne University of Technology and Barzan University College in Qatar will offer students a gateway to global opportunities, with courses tailored to the country's evolving economy. This collaboration reflects the growing ties between Australia and Qatar, with the Gulf state being Australia's second-largest two-way trade partner in the Middle East and North Africa region.
