Tomorrow's regional experts in robotics are to be visited by business development, OTH, and Regensburg University, as part of their pursuit of innovation in the field.
In a concerted effort to foster economic growth and secure skilled workers in the Regensburg regions, the County Councilor, Tanja Schweiger, has highlighted the significant contribution of international students. The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) have funded a project called OTH BRIDGE (Building Relations for International Degree-Seeking Students to German Employment), which connects international students with companies in the Regensburg regions.
County Economic Developer, Roland Weiß, emphasized the unique nature of this format, bringing international talents and innovative companies together directly. The events, a key part of the OTH BRIDGE and iSTEPS projects (University of Regensburg), aim to showcase the prospects and innovative strength of local companies to international students.
One such company, Innok Robotics, based in Regenstauf, develops robotics solutions used throughout Europe. The Economic Development Agency of Regensburg regions, along with international students from Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Regensburg and the University of Regensburg, recently visited Innok Robotics.
Personnel manager Theresa Zirkelbach stated that creative, well-trained specialists are needed at Innok Robotics, and international students are valuable for their technical expertise and intercultural skills. The visit was part of an effort to highlight the innovative strength and job opportunities in the Regensburg regions to international students.
Universities in Regensburg also promote networking between international students and local businesses. The events emphasize the importance of sustainability in economic development and focus on enabling international students to make contacts with regional employers early on. The close cooperation between science, business, and regional promotion is considered a special feature of Regensburg regions.
The network created by these events continues to have an impact beyond the study period, securing skilled workers in the regions. County Councilor Tanja Schweiger stated that international students bring valuable expertise and new perspectives to the region, and connecting them early with businesses creates opportunities for both sides. The format is crucial in securing skilled workers in the regions, as it directly connects international talents with innovative companies.
Innok Robotics thrives on the innovative strength of its companies and the people who shape them. The company values the intercultural skills and technical expertise of international students, making it a win-win situation for all involved. The demand for skilled workers from companies is covered, and graduates are provided with a professional future in the regions.
