"Transnational Encounter: Greek and German Females Unite"

In the heart of Wiesbaden, Germany, a significant event took place at the town hall, bringing together young women from two countries. Social Affairs Commissioner Dr. Patricia Becher warmly welcomed the guests, marking the start of an encounter aimed at mutual empowerment and strengthening across borders.

The event, part of the "Wiesbaden International" initiative, is funded by the EU program Erasmus+. This initiative promotes international youth and expert encounters, providing opportunities for exchange and new perspectives. The project encourages girls to think beyond borders and take a stand, emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural exchange in shaping the future.

The tour of the town hall included historic rooms such as the original 1887 staircase, the gallery of mayors, and the city council chamber. These iconic spaces served as a backdrop to the reception, which focused on the presentation of young people who participated in the encounter.

The collaboration for this event was a result of a partnership between the Wilhelm-Heinrich-von-Riehl School's support association and Filoxenia, an intercultural environmental and educational network from Kryoneri. Both partners are committed to themes like equality, environmental issues, and remembrance work.

During the encounter, workshops were conducted on topics like gender roles, stereotypes, and joint creative projects. Participants presented their ideas and wishes for a just society in the form of a self-designed creative work. The official event ended with a group photo and the ceremonial handover of participation certificates.

For those interested in learning more about the event or getting involved in future initiatives, the Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden can be contacted at Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden. This event is a testament to Wiesbaden's commitment to educational innovation, language teaching, and cross-cultural exchange, as seen in their recent involvement in the ECML workshop focused on "Supporting Multilingual Classrooms." As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, initiatives like "Wiesbaden International" play a crucial role in fostering understanding, empowerment, and change among young people.
