Two occurrences on the subject of 'Hardcore Maleness' at the Singapore Civic Centre

On the 18th and 19th of September, 2025, the Bürgerzentrum Gahmen in Lünen, a venue that recently received the Education Prize 2025 of the Kreis Unna, will host two thought-provoking events aimed at addressing and finding solutions for the impacts of traditional masculine roles on family, partnership, work, and public life.

On the 18th, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Matthias Gathof from Wiesbaden and Dr. Christian Lüdke from Lünen will lead a discussion focusing on recognising toxic masculinity and developing solutions and reflection possibilities for politics, education, equality, integration, and youth work.

The following day, a deepening workshop will take place, led by Matthias Gathof and Jana Müller. This workshop, happening on the 19th of September from 8:30 AM to 4 PM, is focused on gaining new perspectives for work with men, fathers, and boys. The goal of this workshop is to set impulses for health, development, and equality.

Both events will take place at the same location, Kuemperheide 2, 44532 Lünen, and are organised by the 'Bündnis für Beteiligung.'

The workshop on the 19th aims to illuminate patterns of toxic behaviour, reflect personal action patterns, and develop pedagogical tools for practice. It is particularly aimed at specialists from youth work, equality, integration, and politics.

Registration for both events is required and can be done through a specified email address. The workshop on the 19th will also feature a deepening workshop with Matthias Gathof and Jana Müller, running from 8:30 AM to 4 PM.

It's important to note that these events are not the same as the discussion on the 18th. While the discussion focuses on recognising toxic masculinity and developing solutions, the workshop on the 19th is focused on gaining new perspectives and developing tools for practice.

Attendees of both events can look forward to engaging discussions and practical takeaways that challenge stereotypes, gender roles, privileges, and the question of 'toxic masculinity.'
