Upgraded auditorium now boasts improved audio performance and user-friendly features for an enhanced listening experience.
Whitinsville Christian School in Massachusetts upgrades its audio system with the Eastern Acoustic Works' (EAW) ADAPTive Series following a partnership with Revelation, an audiovisual event production service and technology integrator company based in Worcester. The new system enhances the school's theatrical and musical performances, improving the overall audio experience for students and audiences.
The previous sound system presented issues, such as excessive white noise and electronic malfunctions, which negatively impacted performances. Anthony D'Elia, President and Chief Steward at Revelation, stated, "The original system was not that old, but it had a lot of issues that needed addressing." The school opted against front fills below the stage due to concerns they would obstruct student choir performances.
To tackle these issues, Revelation proposed deploying the EAW ADAPTive Series, featuring AC6 Column Loudspeakers and Otto Subwoofers. The gear was installed in stacks of two, positioned above the stage in a left, right, and center arrangement. This innovative system ensures precisely directed audio, reaching the front rows without amplifying the sound toward the back wall, which lacked acoustic treatment.
A thorough evaluation of the existing rig points was carried out by a structural engineer to ensure safety and stability. Revelation's system engineer and Head of Audio conducted extensive tuning, resulting in what D'Elia describes as "perfection" in sound quality. The feedback from the school community has been positive, with D'Elia commenting, "Everything has been working exceptionally for almost a year now."
Byron Flagg of Whitinsville Christian School highlighted the advantages of choosing the EAW ADAPTive Series. He pointed out the superior frequency range, fidelity, and onboard processing at the price point. The speakers' clean and minimalist aesthetic makes them less visually intrusive in the theater applications. According to Flagg, the Otto Subwoofer and AC6 Column Arrays are well-suited for controlling energy distribution in the auditorium, considering its acoustic tuning for live orchestra and choir music.
The collaboration between Whitinsville Christian School and Revelation demonstrates a commitment to providing an exceptional educational and performance environment. The installation of the EAW ADAPTive Series sound system has set a new standard for audio excellence in the school's auditorium, fostering creativity and enhancing the overall experience for everyone involved.
