Yango Deepens Commitment to Africa with New Regional Hub in Abidjan

Yango Group, a UAE-based tech company, has announced a significant expansion of its presence in Africa. The company, which entered the continent in 2018 with a launch in Côte d'Ivoire, has now established a major continental headquarters in Abidjan. This move marks a deep commitment to the region and serves as a launchpad for greater innovation and scaling of local digital services.

The new Abidjan hub, already housing 200 staff members, will coordinate operations across 16 African countries. Yango's long-term strategy in Africa focuses on expanding its presence across more countries, building integrated digital ecosystems tailored to local realities, and investing in talent development programs like the Yango Fellowship and Yangoversity to nurture local leadership and innovation.

Yango's strategy is about long-term integration into the continent’s digital economy through a robust regional HQ, expansive multi-service platforms, strategic investments, and cultivating local talent and leadership to build sustainable, locally adapted technology ecosystems.

Since entering Africa, Yango has developed a multi-service "Super App" platform offering ride-hailing, food delivery, e-commerce, payments, and plans to expand tailored business-to-business (B2B) tech services. The company aims to build ecosystems that combine global technologies with local market knowledge to empower small businesses, drivers, couriers, and users.

Through Yango Ventures, the group backs local startups like BuuPass to improve Africa’s digital mobility infrastructure, combining financial support with expertise and networking to scale operations across the continent, including partnerships with telecoms and financial institutions.

Yango runs talent initiatives such as the Yango Fellowship and Yangoversity, which gather African leaders and teams for immersive workshops, business simulations, and field experiences ("Go to the Fields"). These programs strengthen local leadership, customer insight, and execution capabilities, fostering innovation deeply rooted in African contexts. The Yango Fellowship, already active in Côte d'Ivoire, will now be coordinated from Abidjan with the aim to equip hundreds of thousands of young Africans with digital skills.

Daniil Shuleyko, CEO of Yango Group, stated that Africa was where their journey started, and they are now investing in the future by making Abidjan home to their largest office in Africa. This move reinforces a growing trend of international tech firms establishing African bases to tap into the continent's fast-evolving digital economy. Yango's approach aims to unlock economic opportunity and strengthen local value chains. The Abidjan hub will serve as a launchpad for scaling operations and innovation across Africa.

The Abidjan hub, a testament to Yango Group's commitment, will not only manage operations in 16 African countries but also spearhead its long-term strategy, which encompasses finance, business, technology, and education-and-self-development. Yango's goal is to establish a robust digital economy presence by integrating global technologies with local market knowledge, empowering businesses, and nurturing local talent through initiatives like the Yango Fellowship and Yangoversity.
